BSD Creative Dance Camps provide children with a creative movement curriculum that introduces them to the foundations of diverse dance styles in imaginative ways. Students learn songs and dances, play dance games, and create movement stories to learn the gross and fine motor skills associated with dance. They explore rhythm and music as it applies to dance, and do arts and crafts projects after enjoying a snack and a break. This fun-filled and imaginative camp is perfect for the seasoned creative dancer, as well as those who have never taken a class before. It is a great way to build new friendships, and share your love of movement with others!
Campers staying for the afternoon will eat lunch (not provided by BSD), play in the Green Street Playground, create sets and costumes for the performance, and continue working on their dancing.
Planet Earth Creative Dance Camp (July 22 – 26): This year’s theme is Planet Earth, where campers learn about and explore the many diverse climates, animals, and ecosystems of our amazing planet. Dancers will create a dance performance based on this rich theme, to be performed for parents on Friday, July 10th at 11:30am.

BSD Ballet Camp is for the young dancer who loves or is curious about ballet. We will learn the steps that constitute the foundation of ballet, along with their French names. We will emphasize concepts such as balance, grace, flow, and stretching so that dancers receive a well-rounded understanding of this beautiful art form. After this camp, dancers will feel more confident and graceful.
Giselle Ballet Camp (Aug. 3-7): Dancers will learn the story of Giselle, listen to the music, and explore the steps that are danced in this classic and beautiful ballet.
