Creative Dance Camp (ages 3-7 years)
These 3-hour camps provide children with a creative movement curriculum that introduces them to the foundations of diverse dance styles in imaginative ways. Students will learn songs and dances, play dance games, and create movement stories to learn the gross and fine motor skills associated with dance. They will explore rhythm and music as it applies to dance, and do arts and crafts projects after enjoying snack and a break. Students will work on a dance combination to present at the end of the camp week. Campers should provide their own snacks.
Hip Hop Dance Camp (ages 7-12 years)
This 3-hour camp introduces students to the fundamentals of hip-hop dance, as well as other forms of movement and dance. Dancers explore house, breakin’, poppin’ and lockin’, as well as play dance games and create graffiti art. Students will work on a dance combination to present at the end of the camp week. Campers should provide their own snacks.
Ballet Bootcamp (ages 7-9 and 10-12)
Ballet Bootcamp is for those who wish to learn the basics of ballet in a safe yet challenging classroom setting. We will learn the steps that constitute the foundation of ballet, along with their French names. We will emphasize concepts such as balance, grace, flow, and stretching so that dancers receive a well-rounded understanding of this beautiful art form. After this week-long bootcamp, dancers will feel more confident and graceful.
Afternoon Dance Camp (ages 4-12)
These camps are optional add-ons to our Creative Dance Camps, Hip Hop Dance Camp, and Ballet Bootcamps for families that need an all-day activity for their children. We continue with dance games, arts and crafts, and dance activities. When the weather is nice, we walk up to the Crowell Lot park and spend some time outside. Campers should bring a snack, a lunch, and a water bottle.
Enrollment in BSD classes is not required for participation!
