Dance Camps

Creative Dance Camp (ages 3-7 years)

Dance Camp Hip Hop.JPGThese 3-hour camps provide pre-schoolers and kindergarteners with a creative movement curriculum that introduces them to the foundations of ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop dance styles in imaginative ways. Students will learn songs and dances, play dance games, and create movement stories to learn the gross and fine motor skills associated with dance. They will explore rhythm and music as it applies to dance, and do arts and crafts projects after enjoying snack and a break. Students will work on a dance combination to present at the end of the camp week. Campers should provide their own snacks.

Hip Hop Dance Camp (ages 7-12 years)

These 3 and 6-hour camps introduce students to the fundamentals of hip-hop dance, as well as other forms of movement and dance. Dancers explore house, breakin’, poppin’ and lockin’, as well as play dance games and create graffiti art. Students will work on a dance combination to present at the end of the camp week. Campers should provide their own snacks. (Please choose the Hip Hop Dance Camp and the Afternoon Dance Camp for the 6-hour camp option.)

Musical Theater Camp (ages 12 and up)

This camp for teens will give theater performers a jazz-based dance class and a vocal singing class, exposing students to the fundamentals of theater singing and dancing. Both classes will teach exercises and techniques to be used in practice and performance of musical theater. A song and dance routine will be prepared and performed at the end of the week’s work. Dancers will get a snack break between the two classes. Campers should provide their own snacks.

Afternoon Dance Camp (ages 4-12)

These camps are add-ons to our Hip Hop Dance Camps, June – July Dance Intensives, and Creative Dance Camps, for families that need an all day activity for their children. We continue with dance games, arts and crafts, and dance activities. When the weather is nice, we walk up to the Crowell Lot park and spend some time outside. Campers should bring a snack, a lunch and a water bottle.

Enrollment in BSD classes in not required for participation!
