This is just a reminder that there will be Saturday classes happening this weekend, April 4th. But due to the Sunday holiday, the Pre-Professional Program will be off April 5th.

Holly’s Youth Modern and Advanced Beginning Ballet class are cancelled today, Wednesday, March 18th. Make-up classes are scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, at their respective times. Please note that this is during April break.

Did you miss the beginning of the winter/spring term and wish you were dancing now? Do you want to add a class to your schedule because it’s light out later, or you’re finished with winter sports, or want to stay active with beach season on the horizon? Then consider an 8 week half semester, available March 16th! Come drop in on a class this week and sign up for the last 8 weeks of the semester!
(The half semester for any of Jane’s Monday classes begins the week of March 23rd.)

Due to instructor illness, Zumba is cancelled for Saturday morning March 7th.  We’re sorry we were unable to find a substitute.  Jennifer will be back Monday night at 6pm and next Saturday at 9am!

BSD classes are on break from Tuesday February 17th through Sunday February 22nd. The classes listed below WILL be happening over the break week.

Another snowy Monday – all BSD classes are cancelled February 9.  BSD will be holding make-up classes for today’s cancelled classes next Monday February 16th, which is our scheduled Winter Break.  If you are unable to make it next Monday, you will receive an absence for the class that can be made up in any other age and level appropriate class during the Spring term.  (Make-ups can be transferred to immediate family members within the same household)  Enjoy the snow and stay safe!

Due to the winter weather advisory the Modern/Jazz audition for the BSD Spring Show scheduled for January 24th from 2-4 pm is rescheduled for Sunday February 2nd from 4-6pm.  Classes are still running this morning (Sat 1/24), except Holly’s Therapeutic Dance.  If you cannot make it to class today you will receive a make-up class to be used anytime during the current semester in any age and level appropriate class.  Make-ups are transferable to immediate family members within your household.  There will be no THERAPEUTIC DANCE class this morning.  Holly Johnson has rescheduled today’s missed class for Saturday February 1st at 11am.

BSD Spring Show Auditions!

All BSD Dancers ages 7 and up are invited to audition

Alll BSD Dancers ages 7 and up (or those enrolled in a Children’s Level class who may be 6) to audition for our Spring Dance Concert, performing at New England Youth Theater for 6 shows over two weekends – May 22nd, 23rd and 24th and May 29th, 30th, and 31st.  The show runs similarly to the Nutcracker with tech week the week leading up to opening (May17th-22nd), but there will only be one show per day.  The Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 and the Sunday matinee has been traditionally at 4pm.

Children in Children levels 1, 2, 3 or 4 should audition for Nan’s Children’s Piece “Singing In The Rain” on Saturday, January 31st from 1:30-2:30pm.

Dancers in their second year of Children’s Ballet 4 or in Youth Ballet 5 should also attend the Ballet audition with any advanced beginner and intermediate or advanced level teen/adult ballet dancers, on Sunday January 25th from 4-6pm.

Any advanced beginning or intermediate level modern, jazz or hip hop dancers should attend the Modern/Jazz audition Saturday January 24th from 2-4pm.  Dancers in their second year of Children’s Ballet 4, Youth Modern, or Youth Ballet 5 are also welcome to attend and will be seen first.

All levels of teen/adult dancers are welcome to attend the Ballroom audition Saturday January 31st from 3-4pm.

All levels of teen/adult Tap Dancers should attend the Tap audition Wednesday January 28th from 7-8pm.

Please arrive early, bring your calendar and be prepared to fill out an availability and conflict form, as well as a letter of commitment.  There is a performance fee of $40 for each dance piece that each dancer is cast in and chooses to participate in.
