Dear BSD Community,
As the Fall Semester draws near, I can’t help but look back over the past few months and feel grateful that we have such a wonderful and supportive group of dancers, teachers, parents, and supporters at our school. We have a dance school filled with people who are thoughtful, generous, and honorable, pursuing the powerful art of movement. BSD is a truly special place.
I am thrilled to continue working with such a rich community, and look forward to growing and deepening our understanding of how dance can be transformative in our lives and the lives of others.
If you have ideas, suggestions, needs that aren’t being met, constructive criticism, I would love to hear from you. Please take a moment to fill out this SURVEY. It is anonymous and extremely helpful to us, so please be as thorough and honest as you can.

Company of Muses Scholarship Deadline for Fall Semester
September 4th
First Day of Fall Semester
We would like to express deep appreciation and gratitude to all who came out to our annual Spring Show, Words to Move by. With all proceeds going towards Company of Muses, an amazing non-profit that provides scholarships to dancers at BSD, we were able to raise enough money to keep meeting nearly 100% of need-based scholarships for the Summer and Fall semesters! The show drew a resounding positive response from the community, and choreographers, technicians, and dancers alike should be very proud of what they accomplished. It is always such a reward to experience the fruits of so much labor – while performing on stage! We are already excited for next year’s show!

Rohan is the artistic director of Rovaco Dance Company, and will be in residence and teaching during the 2nd week of the Summer Dance Intensive (June 25th-29th.)
He’ll be teaching contemporary and repertory all week – be sure not to miss it!
Dedicated to creating bold, innovative, and physical dance works, Rovaco’s mission is to tell intriguing and authentic stories through movement. The aim is to create art that entertains, builds community, and sparks conversations. Rovaco’s teaching philosophy focuses on anatomically sound practices that help the body reach its full movement potential. Combining ideas of release, initiation, expansion, and momentum, the company’s movement aesthetic is cathartic and invigorating.
