Therapeutic Dance Starts Monday June 3

This new class taught by Holly Johnson is not on the summer schedule card, but is a new addition that you won’t want to miss. It’s designed to address the needs of dancers in recovery from injuries, dancers who are “re-entering” dance training after a break, or older dancers who still prefer the dance class atmosphere (with music!) over other forms of exercise, but without the physical stress of leaps, jumps and tricky combinations. The goal is to provide a supportive, dance-oriented workout that is paced to allow for conscientious exploration of technique as it suits individuals. The class will be an amalgam of elements drawn from ballet barre, standard stretches and strengthening exercises, yoga, effort/shape, breath work, and modern dance. Those who simply want to supplement their current workout/training program with this type of class are also welcome.

Show participants – update your conflict sheets

BSD students who have or are auditioning for the Spring show, make sure we have your most up-to-date conflicts. There are extra blank conflict lists hanging on the BSD bulletin board in the dressing room hallway. Ask a desk staff person to let you see the clipboard in the back office if you need to update your conflicts on that list.
